Guys - the "Rikki Tikki Tockett" comment has been deleted by me, because within the context of this topic, it came off as inappropriate...& i did not intend to offend any of my HB bros in here...every now & then, for the sake of a laugh [& sometimes albeit a cheap one], some peeps have been known to have some "bad timig" [very bad, if one is a drummer ;=)]...i guess i lumped myself into that category on this particular occasion...just couldn't resist taking a potshot at a "pretentious so-&-so" at the time...I'm prob not the 1st & prob won't be the last, but still...it was lack of taste & poor judgement w regards to timing & sensitivity of subject matter...so, my apologies, & sincerely, all due respect...

Hello to all. My name is Carlos Benson and am the director of the "International Drummers for Jesus Celebration". Or, the "Boss" as Brandon put it. I would like to let you know first off that all in attendance were blessed by being there. God indeed showed up! I think that Brandon's assessment of the evening was fairly accurate. So, thanks to him for investing the time to contribute his words to HOD. Just a few notes to add to Brandon's: Paul Leim is the most recorded drummer in history (in the studio) and Sean McCurley is the drummer for Kirk Whalum (grammy nominated jazz saxophonist)and is also 1st call studio drummer in Dallas and has played with numerous well known jazz figures as well as LeeAnn Rimes. He is more than a decent player, he is a GREAT drummer. Also, there were events on Saturday, too, featuring Alvaro Lopez. If you have not heard of Alvaro, I would encourage you to seek his DVDs or CDs out. An amazing player and man of God. I would also tell you that the drummers all want to come back next year and do it again. They all stated that this was the best LIVE experience they have EVER had. Now THAT is quite a statement for the likes of these great artists. But, it was a great LIVE experience, not only from a drum/percussion viewpoint, but from a drum WORSHIP experience - it was truly a SPIRTIUAL HAPPENING!!! I would also say that whatever has been written about Vinnie Colaiuta in a negative sense, it has all been washed by the blood of Jesus. I had the pleasure to sit and talk with Vinnie for hours at the event and since then and he is a man about the work of Jesus. A changed man, as we all are, not perfect, just forgiven. Down to earth, caring gentleman, very sweet man. As were all the artists, all changed by having a relationship with Jesus and that's why they were at this event. They are not stupid men and woman, they are brilliant artists, but they have chosen to be men of God and accept the simple message of Jesus. I hope that you that read this that do not know about Jesus will ask questions and look into it. Forever is a long time. Please go to: www.drummersforjesus.com and contact me if you'd like. Vinnie said that at the MD Festival that he played at that he thanked his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for his talent and gave all glory to Him, but when the video came out MD cut it out ..
